The Pranamaya Kosha is the layer of the aura that helps you feel vital, energetic and connected to all beings. One of five koshas, this kosha is also the space where you may connect to your ancestors, deceased loved ones and all life.

What Is Prana?

Prana is the life force or essence of life that exists in all things. When I first learnt about Prana, everything felt magical to me.  I just saw the world in a whole new way.

I have always felt that every animate or inanimate thing was somehow alive or full of some essence that connected all things together like an invisible breath of love. That is what Prana is to me.

It is the essence of life in all things. It is also the essence that makes all things live. When you begin tapping into this essence you feel walls of separation fall. You begin to subtly understand that you are one with all and thus, you are never alone, never poor, never defeated.

If you want to improve your health, your memory, your focus or your joy you can increase Prana. There are so many ways to do this…

Eating foods that are organic and fresh helps to keep the life force vibrant. Engaging in activities that bring joy helps to keep you connected to all beings with love.

How To Strengthen The Pranamaya Kosha

  • To help heal this layer, make food offerings to nature or those in need
  • Visualize that all beings have peace
  • Work with the color green – green aventurine or jade crystals can be worn to help increase the strength of the Pranamaya Kosha.
  • Eat foods like ginger, greens and turmeric to cleanse toxins out of the body. This recipe contains both ginger and turmeric.
  • Engage in deep breathing
  • Spend time in nature
